COwichan Cougars

Formed over 10 years ago, the Cowichan Cougars are a dedicated group of women with impressive skills.

They were provincial finalists in the 2018/19 season, and are two-time Masters B Provincial Champions, winning in 2021/22 and 2023/24. This season, they are looking to continue their success and are excellent examples of playing the sport we all love, for as long as you can.

The team is led by Head Coach Darian Achurch, of our very own Cowichan 49ers. He has coached the Cougars for 15 years and can often be seen fending off players’ toddlers, and is well known for his lucky ‘pocket sandwiches’ that he eats during the games.
